Louisville Boat Club

Attendees: Emma Borders, Elly Henderson, Heather Hurley, Pat Morgan, Julie Mudd, Martha Puckett, Chuck Simpson, Marcy Suter, John Weeter, Sally Wiggins

(The Secretary was late for the meeting, so these minutes are incomplete.)

Suggestions made at last month's meeting were discussed. Some other actions were discussed. Pat will approach Andy Grissom about the Class of '64 participation during a Churchill Downs Day at the Races/Cocktail Party on Friday, June 20, 2008 to last from 3:00-9:00. Pat will contact Graham about a large space at Churchill Downs to accommodate a group of 150-200. Someone will contact a representative of the Class of '62 to determine if they would be interested in joining our group on that Friday. Each class would distribute information to their class members. They may have an e-mail database set up like we do.

A list of '63 class members was passed around the room for committee members to try to locate e-mail addresses of classmates Heather hasn't been able to reach. We will distribute reunion information electronically and send out two mailings prior to next year's event.

The golf outing was briefly mentioned. It was suggested that since the cocktail party may be at Churchill Downs on Friday during the races, the golf tourney could be held on Sunday. A private club may not be willing to allow our group to play at their course, so a public course may need to be contacted.

Martha asked if one or two committee members should accompany her to meet with Waggener principal, Candy Conway, to discuss her willingness to offer stationery and postage for our mailings. It was determined that the meeting with Ms. Conway could wait until the school year is well underway.

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, August 21 at Audubon Country Club at 6:00 pm. There is still plenty of work to be done, and your presence is encouraged.
